When building schedules that need to be finalized before employees can view them, there are two available options for creating draft schedules.

Option 1: Using the Sandbox

The Sandbox allows you to create and test schedules in a separate environment.

Important Note: The sandbox resets every night at midnight, so any work completed there will be erased.

Option 2: Using Shift Bidding Templates

This method provides a persistent draft environment that won't affect your live schedule.

Steps to Set Up Shift Bidding Templates:

  1. Navigate to Admin Panel > Employees > Shift Bidding Templates
  2. Create a test template that functions like a schedule
  3. Manually add users by clicking the settings wheel at the top of each group

Benefits of Shift Bidding Templates:

  • Does not reset at midnight
  • Work is preserved between sessions
  • Does not affect the live schedule
  • Allows for thorough schedule planning before implementation
