The Retro Report identifies changes made to a pay period after payroll was already run. This helps you catch edits that may require adjustments in your payroll system.

Steps

  1. Go to Reports > Retro Report.

  2. In the Retro Report form, enter the following fields:

    • Start Date → First day of the pay period you want to review.

    • End Date → Last day of the pay period you want to review.

    • Group → Select a group of employees. Options include:

      • Specific Group

      • All Employees

      • All Employees with Changes

    • Date/Time Payroll for selected period was run → Enter the exact date and time payroll was pulled for that period. The report will only return changes made after this point.

  3. Click Run Report.

    • The report will list employees and records that were updated after payroll was processed.

Example

Scenario:

  • Today is 09/22/2025.

  • You are running payroll for 09/08/2025 – 09/21/2025.

  • You want to check if any changes were made to the prior pay period (08/25/2025 – 09/07/2025) after payroll was processed.

  • Payroll for that period was run on 09/08/2025 at 12:30 PM.

Form Entries:

  • Start Date: 08/25/2025

  • End Date: 09/07/2025

  • Group: All Employees

  • Date/Time Payroll for selected period was run: 09/08/2025 12:30

The Retro Report will now show only changes made to the 09/08 - 09/21 pay period after 9/8 at 12:30 PM.

Helpful Tips / Related Settings

  • Always use the exact date/time payroll was run to avoid false positives.

  • Use All Employees with Changes if you only want to see staff affected by edits.

  • Run the Retro Report regularly to avoid missing adjustments in future payroll exports.
