The Pace Scheduler Mobile App is available at no additional cost and is included as part of each department's subscription to the Pace Scheduler software.
Where to Download
The Pace Scheduler mobile app is available for free download in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Simply search for "Pace Scheduler" and install the app on your device. To log in, use the same email and password credentials that you use to access the Pace Scheduler website.
It's important to note that the availability of the app may vary depending on your department's settings. The department administrators have the option to enable or disable the app for the entire department. If the app is disabled for your department, you will not be able to view your shifts or access other features within the app. Instead, you will receive a notification indicating that the app is not enabled for your department.
Automatic Updates
Once the Pace Scheduler mobile app is installed on your device, you will receive automatic updates whenever new versions are released. You do not need to manually download the app again for future updates. If you are logged into the app when an update is available, you will receive a notification informing you of the update. The app will then reload automatically, ensuring that you have the latest version without requiring any special actions on your part.
Exploring the Features of the Pace Scheduler Mobile App
At the top of the page, you will find your time bank balances if your department has enabled time bank functionality. These values will match the balances displayed on the website.
The primary tab within the app is denoted by the "Home" icon positioned at the bottom, providing users with a comprehensive overview of their scheduled shifts. Each shift includes supplementary details pertaining to assignments (commonly known as beats, areas, posts, zones, etc.), assets, special assignments, time off or comp time, overtime, trades/covers, notes, and pending requests. By selecting any shift, users can access a form that presents the same options available on the website. In cases where the department has disabled specific request types, these options will be concealed within the app, akin to the web interface.
If there are any available extra shifts to claim, whether, for the current day or future dates, they will be grouped and displayed prominently on the home page. Simply select the desired open shift and complete the form to submit your request for consideration.
Calendar Tab
The middle tab in the app features a Calendar icon and provides access to view the schedule on specific days. The date selection area at the top of the Calendar Tab offers visual indicators to help you navigate:
- Green highlight: Represents today's date
- Grey highlight: Indicates days when you have assigned shifts
- Blue highlight: Shows the currently viewed day
- Red dot below the number: Indicates a minimum staffing shortage for that day
- Blue dot below the number: Signifies the presence of available extra shift assignments for that day
To navigate between future months or years, you can use the forward/backward arrows next to the month or click on the month to open a year+month picker for selection.
The toggle icon located between the person and building symbols allows you to switch between viewing only your own shifts and viewing the entire department's shifts (subject to your permissions).
If there are available shifts to be claimed on the current day, the Open Shift button will appear. The Additional Time button functions similarly to the Additional Time link on the web, enabling you to submit an overtime request on a day off.
The Schedules dropdown menu enables you to select which schedule you want to view, based on the schedule view permissions assigned by administrators.
The shifts displayed at the bottom of the Calendar Tab are clickable, providing access to the same request forms available on the web for submitting various types of requests such as Trade or Cover.
Pending Requests Tab
The Pending Requests tab in the mobile app displays a list of all pending requests, including those submitted by you or those for which you have the authority to approve or reject as a supervisor or admin. Similar to the web interface, each pending request in the mobile app provides information such as the type of request, minimum staffing warnings, and time bank balances. If you are the requester, you will have a button to cancel the request, while supervisors or admins will see buttons to approve or reject the request.
It's important to note that when clicking the Cancel, Approve, or Reject buttons, a confirmation prompt will appear before the action is saved. All notifications related to these actions will be sent through the system, ensuring that users receive them in the same manner as approvals and rejections on the web platform.
Submitting Requests
When accessing the app, selecting one of your assigned shifts will redirect you to a dedicated page where you can submit various types of requests based on the permissions set by your department. The request forms available in the app closely align with those found on the web platform, ensuring a consistent and familiar process for submitting requests.
To provide further clarity, here are some key points:
1. Additional Time tab: Utilize this tab to submit overtime requests that are separate from your regular shift. For instance, if you are required to return to the department for an additional two hours while off duty, you can submit such requests through this tab.
2. Change tab: This tab serves the purpose of requesting changes to an existing shift. The most common request type within this tab is for time off, allowing you to conveniently submit time-off requests directly through the app.
3. Time Adjustment tab: This tab may be titled differently, such as "Holdover," depending on the specific terminology used by your department. It enables you to submit requests related to time adjustments, such as instances where you need to extend your shift due to unforeseen circumstances like a late arrest.
4. Trade tab: Within this tab, you can initiate trade requests to exchange shifts with other users. Alternatively, you can directly click on another user's shift to submit a trade request, streamlining the process even further.
5. Release tab: provides the functionality to release your shift either to a designated shift cover or leave it unassigned. This feature offers flexibility in managing shift coverage, ensuring seamless operations within your department.
These tabs and their respective functionalities contribute to a seamless user experience, allowing you to effortlessly submit requests and efficiently manage your schedule through the app. It is important to note that not all tabs may appear if the Pace Support team has not activated them specifically for your department.
Support/Questions
If you require assistance or have identified a bug while using the app, you can access the "Help" tab by clicking on the menu icon located in the upper left-hand corner. Submitting your help request through the app will ensure that it enters our main support ticketing queue, similar to when you email [email protected]. Rest assured that our support team will address your request promptly and provide the necessary assistance to resolve any issues you may encounter.
