Pace Scheduler has a few basic asset management and tracking features at your disposal should you wish to use them.

Please Note: If the Asset Feature set is not already enabled for your site, you will need to contact Pace Staff to enable it for you. Whether or not the features are enabled by default depends on what your department requested during your initial site setup. Some departments choose not to enable these features if they already have a reliable asset management system through another method/software. This feature does not cost anything extra to enable, but Pace Staff does need to do it for you.

Asset Features are organized into “Asset Types” and “Assets".

Asset Types
These are the various categories that your individual assets fall under, such as Squad Car, Rifle, AED, Taser, etc. Once these Types are created, you will be able to create the assets themselves within each category.

Assets
These are the individual assets themselves, such as Car 1, Car 2, Car 3, Rifle #123, Rifle #456, AED 1, AED 2, and so on. These are what lies nested within the “Asset Types”.

Assigning Assets

There are two ways to assign assets. Each offers unique benefits.

Assign via Admin Tab
Assigning Assets via the Admin Tab allows you to “Check-In” and “Check-Out” assets, assign assets following a pattern, or even assign them to a user permanently. It’s great for quartermasters and/or gear cage personnel, as they can quickly divvy out gear as needed, and check it back in once the officer in question completes their shift, among other scenarios of course.

Please Note: If your department opted to make use of our Barcode Scanning feature, this is where you will make use of it. Barcode Scanning is covered is this separate article.

Assign via Assignments Tab
Assigning Assets via the Assignments Tab is meant primarily for a roll-call setting. For example, if you have roll call before each shift, you can pull up the Assignments tab and quickly assign someone to a Beat and assign them an asset for that single shift, all in one fell swoop.

Please Note: By default, we call it the “Assignments” Tab, however this verbiage can be customized by each department for their Pace site. Your department may call them Beats, Sectors, Areas, Zones, or something else entirely. Regardless of the verbiage used, this tab will function the same.

You will be presented with an asset menu where you can assign items to the selected person for this shift.
