Certifications

If your department needs to keep track of specific certifications, skills, or training for individual users, the Certification module can help. To enable this module, please reach out to us at [email protected]

Creating a new Certification Type

The first step is to create a new Certification Type. To do that, you will need to be an Administrator. Navigate to the Admin Tab -> Certifications -> Certification Types:

You will then choose a name for the Certification Type and a length of time that the Certification Type will be valid for by default (in months):

After you create a new Certification Type, you will see it in a list on the Certification Types page. You can also edit or remove existing Certification Types.

Certification Alerts

You can set up Certification Alerts to send notifications to the user holding the certification, your Pace Admins, or both at a specific interval before the certification is set to expire.

Click on "Certification Alerts" and then "Create Certification Alert" to create a new Alert:

When setting up a new alert, you will choose the following items:

  • Certification types - choose which Certification Types this alert will be tied to.

  • Background color - choose which background color (if any) you want to appear on the Award Certifications page when this alert is triggered.

  • Send alert this many days before expiration - choose the length of time before expiration that will trigger this alert to be sent.

  • People to notify - choose who will receive the notification when this alert is triggered.

  • Notification - choose the type(s) of notification the above people will receive.

Award Certifications

Once you have created the Certification Types and Certification Alerts, you can Award Certifications to specific users. Click on "Award Certifications":

On this page you will see each person listed on the left, and each Certification Type shown to the right. If there are any existing Alerts, they will show up on this page with the background color and expiration date you selected:

To award a new certification, click on "Create Certification":

You will then choose the following items:

  • Person - choose who to assign the certification to.
  • Certification type - choose from the Certification Types you have created.
  • Date received - choose the date the user received the certification.
  • Date expires - choose the date the user's certification expires on.
  • Notes - add notes to the user's certification.

Once you have filled out all of those items, you can click "Create":

That information will then appear on the "Award Certifications" page:
